Campus Status: Duluth

Overall Campus Operations Campus is under extended reduced operations. Most facilities are closed to the public. Library services are available online. View the latest updates on the U of M Duluth COVID-19 site.
Classes In-person instruction has moved to alternative instruction for the remainder of the semester.
Study Abroad As of March 15, all study and education abroad programs have been canceled. Review the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance website for more information.
Health Services UMD Health Services and local hospitals and clinics have implemented procedures in accordance with CDC guidelines, including asking all patients seeking treatment for fever and respiratory illnesses to be asked about overseas travel.
Events Most events are canceled or postponed through the end of the semester. Check with the event organizer for more information. All major venues at UMD are closed to the public.
Undergraduate Admissions

Prospective students and families are encouraged to email our office at, directly contact their counselor or call 218-726-7171 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (CST). Admitted students can view all of their next steps.

All admission events and visit programs through April 1 are canceled. After April 1, visits and events will be re-evaluated by campus leadership. We are currently exploring a virtual presentation option. Find current information related to campus visits online.

All counselor travel including all high school and community college visits and education fairs have been canceled for the remainder of the semester.

Housing Open for students who need housing, as students are encouraged to stay home. Check the UMD Housing website for more information.
Dining Superior dining is open for students who need dining from 7:30 a..m - 7:30 p.m. Check Dining Services website for more info and to-go meal options.
Transportation DTA’s routes and services reduced. Check the DTA website for most up to date information.
Faculty and Staff Travel All University sponsored, non-essential travel, both domestic and international, is cancelled through May 31.

All athletics events, practices and championships (NCAA, NSIC, NCHC & WCHA) are cancelled through Spring 2020.
