December Safe Campus Update
December 12, 2024
☝️ First things first
Good luck with final exams! Between your study sessions, make sure to take care of your whole self by prioritizing healthy eating, movement, sleep, and quality time with friends. Remember, you are more than a letter grade.
🏴☠️ Avert the porch pirates
Argh! If online shopping is your vibe, keep porch pirates (a.k.a. opportunists) at bay with these package theft prevention tips.
- Opt for delivery at a secure location like an Amazon locker.
- Ask a neighbor or roommate to grab your package if you’re away.
- Request a mail hold from the post office or delivery service if traveling.
- Sending a gift? Let your friend or fam know a package is on its way. Better safe than sorry.
If you have a stolen package, report it to the police and the post office or delivery service for recovery or reimbursement. Reporting stolen packages also helps track patterns to catch porch pirates.
Heads up: If your building is closing and you’re not staying, redirect packages to your break address and bring them back in January.
🚏Before you ride, check online
Campus Connectors and Campus Circulators will be on a reduced schedule over winter break. The GopherTrip app or website will be your saving grace for shifting schedules so you can plan to be on time, all the time. Be sure to also check alerts from Parking and Transportation Services about continued construction around campus.
Reminder: Gopher Chauffeur will not run over winter break.
