Food assistance for University students

November 10, 2025

The University is committed to supporting those in our community who worry about running out of food. While this isn’t an exhaustive list of campus resources, it is a great place to start.

Boynton Health’s Nutritious U Food Pantry

Students can get fresh, free, and culturally connected food at three locations on campus each week during the semester.

  • Coffman Memorial Union

  • St. Paul Student Center

  • West Bank Skyway

Make note

  • No proof of need or student ID is required to receive food, but students are asked to scan their U Card to better track participation.
  • You may visit any food pantry location one time per week, up to four food pantry visits per month.

Free Meal Thursdays

Students can get free chef-prepared meals available to-go at three locations on campus year-round. This program is offered in partnership with Kitchen Coalition, the Campus Club and Swipe Out Hunger.

  • Coffman Memorial Union

    • Runs until all meals are served

  • Commonwealth Terrace Cooperative

    • For students living at Commonwealth Terrace Cooperative or on the Twin Cities campus in St. Paul

  • Como Student Community Co-op

    • For residents only

Make note

  • Meal availability depends on how many students attend.
  • Students are encouraged to arrive early, especially at the Coffman Memorial Union event.
