COVID-19 Updates

Latest Updates - Updated September 2

  •
  • On August 3, the University announced the requirement that all students, staff, faculty, contractors, and visitors to our campuses, offices, and facilities, statewide, wear face coverings while indoors, regardless of  vaccination status.
  • On July 1, Gov. Tim Walz’s emergency powers for managing COVID-19 ended. As a result, the University no longer requires the use of unit Sunrise Plans for Twin Cities faculty, staff, postdoctoral students, and graduate assistants to be on campus.
  • As of June 1, the restriction on international travel for University business has been lifted. Learn more about international travel.
  • For units wishing to keep COVID-19 restrictions in place, the University’s Emergency Management Policy Committee has created a COVID-19 Restriction Exception process
  • External use of space, including for events, is once again allowed within current state guidelines and with proper COVID-related precautions. External uses should use OGC contract SC626. It includes language that covers this requirement. For questions about safety guidelines or preparation, contact Jordan Romine at University Health and Safety.
