COVID-19 Updates

Top things to know - Updated August 12, 2020

  • The University will offer in-person and remote instruction and re-open residence halls, dining facilities, and other campus services for Fall 2020 semester in a manner consistent with public health guidelines.
  • The “Stay Safe MN" campaign encourages all Minnesotans to stay home as much as possible, adhere to physical distancing and other safety precautions.  Face coverings (masks) are also required throughout the state. For the University, only employees who have been approved to return individually under the Sunrise Plan or through a comparable department-level plan will work on campus until further notice.
  • Learn more about the University's testing and contact tracing protocols, called MTest.
  • Campuses and units may order masks for faculty and staff from U Market Services (limit two per employee and student at no cost). Learn more about how departments and offices can order branded masks from U Market.
  • The international restriction for all University-purpose travel by students, faculty, and staff has been extended to Nov. 20, 2020. Domestic travel by staff or faculty using personal or fleet services vehicles is allowed, but faculty and staff domestic air travel for University purposes is discouraged unless absolutely necessary.
  • Most University buildings systemwide require a U Card or other secure means of access, consistent with the protocol for each of our campuses.
