September 2025 Safe Campus Update

September 11, 2025

First things first

Hey, Gophers! Welcome to a new semester. Stay tuned each month for the Safe Campus Update to find info, tools, and resources to help keep you safe, in every sense of the word. Check out the Safe Campus website for all you need, when you need it.

Safety resources at your fingertips

The University has your back. Campus staff have solid plans and tools ready to roll for any type of circumstance.

  • SAFE-U is the University’s emergency mass notification system. Watch for alerts by email, phone, or text—you choose.
  • The Department of Public Safety’s workshops and resources can help you prepare for emergencies.
  • Campus buildings are stacked with safety features—think posters, locks, turnstiles, and U Card-only access.

Find this info and more all in one place on the emergency preparedness webpage.

When butterflies linger, find support

Are your first-day butterflies lasting longer than expected? Totally normal. If those feelings continue, though, it’s time to take action.
