December 2025 Safe Campus Update
December 10, 2025
First things first
The time has come to show those final exams who’s boss. While you reach peak studying flow state, remember to take breaks for meals, sleep and movement.
Don’t forget: Take your things with you or entrust them to the study group to prevent opportunists from swiping your devices. Record serial numbers, usually found in settings or the underside of items, in case they get lost or stolen.
Strength in togetherness
While December can be a season of cheer and merriment for some, it can mean loneliness and even vulnerability for others. If you’re having a tough time, you’re not alone — help is here. Check out mentalhealth.umn.edu.
And remember, belonging grows when you’re connected. Explore hundreds of student groups and events at gopherlink.umn.edu to find your people and build your community.
In sickness and in health
Winter season illnesses don’t stand a chance against great care from Boynton Health. Treat your coughs and sneezes by:
- Calling the Boynton Nurse Line for a quick consult on how to seek care
- Using the Pharmacy for your prescription needs
- Visiting the Vaccine Clinic, drop-in or by appointment, to protect yourself from a range of illnesses multiplying across campus
Get physical: Take the preventative route and visit RecWell for a warm, safe indoor space to move your body. A bonus — they're open over winter break.
